Zenat-Uber

Last month I took an Uber to the Wonderfront Festival near downtown San Diego.

When I hopped in, the driver had the radio turned up with a most annoying commercial blasting.  I nicely asked if he wouldn’t mind turning it off and the response was completely unexpected…he gave me the longest, most uncomfortable stare, turned it off and then proceeded to drive. 

Without hesitation, I asked how his day was going, and from there we had an amazing conversation for the next thirty minutes…telling personal stories and laughing.

Before I got out of his car, I gave him a Zenatude bracelet and mentioned how our conversation was aligned with my mission “seeing the positive in ourselves, others and the situations around us,” and he gladly accepted and laughed when I called him a Zenat-Uber. 😊

Cheers to a great reminder that in an uncomfortable situation, one thing we have control of is the outcome.
