10 Tips to Loosening Your Grip

November 2022

“Crappy” things happen to all of us. What we do with “it” is individually up to us.

Are you allowing that negative situation or painful thought control how you go about your day? I sure hope not!

Here are a few practices to help you LET GO:

  1. Choose a word or phrase to replace that negative/painful thought.
  2. Distance yourself from the situation or person who caused you to be upset.
  3. Address the pain and then think of something you’re grateful for.
  4. Take a long deep breath, hold it, then blow out the negative/painful thought.
  5. Accept that the person who hurt you isn’t going to apologize.
  6. Do something that brings you joy and comfort.
  7. Surround yourself with positive happy people.
  8. Forgive yourself and the person who hurt you.
  9. Talk about it to someone you trust.
  10. Each morning, write down “I will let go of what I can’t control.”

Letting GO gives way to… having a Zenatudinal Day!
